The hardest part about taking close-up photos of proof coins is arranging the lighting so it doesn't detract from the image. With that said, I don't see a "D" under the "S". Chris

The proof dies and planchets were specially produced. It's unlikely they would punch the wrong mint mark on there, and then just punch another one over it. Unless you have information about such an error already existing. This did happen with a few business strikes, when they punched all the mint marks for all the mints in Philly.
