The coin you have posted is a New Zealand Halfcrown. This date is particularly common and is worth roughly a dollar in circulated condition.

The date and patters are different from what you sent me. Is this an error? If so does that make it more valuable?

It's not an error, it's not rare. So you go ahead and point to what you think is an error or rare about it to us because none of us "get it" what you're talking about. There's nothing different between the coin you posted and the one on this link.

 

Nice design. Looks like it's in good shape to be that old. Not worth much.

Right, he was King in 1948, he is supposed to be on the coin.
