I Am Not Ready For This Stress

Dear heavens..... It is a blue bazillion degrees outside in early August. Is it already time to to start stressing over Christmas??

If you think this is stress, talk to the folks at the stock market. There are already Christmas lights for sale here in the hardware stores. Nothing political intended but with this tariff war going on, I think a lot of stores will be early on Christmas this year, trying to get ahead of the Sept deadline for new tariffs. I did read today that some things have been taken off the tariff list until mid December. Items like cell phones, computers, clothing and shoes, toys, video games and consoles, all of which make up a large part of holiday shopping. It seems to get a little worse each year.

 

That's the perfect word to describe a lot of what comes from the U.S. Mint these days.

 

Didnt you hear? Once Labor Day hits, it's time for Christmas shopping. The heck with pumpkin lobotomy and turkey devouring. Bring on the carols of broken piggy banks and maxed out credit cards!!!

 

I bet Christmas trees will be triple the price of last year, or else start using young Eucalyptus instead of fir, or maybe get a plastic tree ( don't know if they are on the tariff list or not). Maybe decorate my Mexican Bird of Paradise bush/tree

 

Christmas in July is a thing. That is when Hallmark comes out with their new Christmas ornaments for the year. So I guess the U.S. Mint is getting in on the early holiday consumer push.

 

I just looked there are 471 new ones for 2019

 

The U.S. Mint has officially become the Franklin Mint.

Nah we still grow trees in America. Luckily I live in a state with an abundance of perfect Christmas trees. Just need a chainsaw and a quick trip to the mountains

 

It sounded more like a global economics statement to me. Is that a no-no too?
