I know these aren’t the best photos. It looked different than other dryer/exposed to the elements pennies. Also don’t mind the doodles on my desk lol. Need to refinish it.
Circulation damage. Not a mint error of any kind. Welcome to CoinTalk.. There is also an Error Coins forum. Your questions can be better asked there. First find out what you have.. What's it Worth is something that should not be your first concern. Most minor mint errors have very little or no premium at all. This is Just a suggestion I'm not trying to be bossy.
Since this is the "What's it Worth" forum, that answer is easy. That coin is worth one cent, and no more. The bad news: it is a very common coin, and heavily worn, at that. Even if it were in Mint State, it really wouldn't be worth more than a few cents anyway. The good news: it is cool-looking. Has sort of a CircCam look going on, and I don't think I've ever seen a CircCam Memorial cent. But unfortunately, that doesn't make it worth anything. It's just a weirdly worn, toned modern cent. When a darkly toned coin gets circulated on its high points, this is what happens. But it's groovy, in a bizarre sort of way. I'd keep it as a pocket piece.
Thanks so much. I’m a total noob still. I’ve done a little research off and on but that’s about it. One other question and bear in mind my camera is not suited for close ups like this but the only other truly curious penny I have is a 1997 penny pretty normal but it has the close am like on the rare 92s and interestingly enough has a b almost instead of a d for the mintmark. I assume it’s just a scratch but I thought I’d ask you guys before I annoy some poor pawn shop owner lol. Thanks again.
