I am trying to find out more about this 1 cent coin. It is able to be picked up with a magnet and seems to be wrapped partially in another blank. Completely silver in color. Any info would be greatly appreciated. It does weigh out at 3.450 grams 20190812_224354.jpg 20190812_224354.jpg 20190812_224537.jpg 20190812_224416.jpg

It's got an old charm bracelet mounting on it, which is why it got plated and is such a strange color. No doubt the bezel it's mounted in is what is causing it to stick to a magnet.

Thanks for the info... I have been collecting pennies as an amateur for years and got really excited when I found this.

I have a 1953 Wheat Penny from a bracelet too mine is chrome and has a ring around it just like yours you can see where they broke it off where that little clip is.

I'm afraid you've just got one cent, there.

Yep. Charm bracelets with inexpensive coins that were chromed or gold-plated (for that extra "bling" factor) seem to have been quite a popular fad in the 1950s, judging from what I've found in bulk lots. You see this a lot with Canadian and British coins, too.

This coin here being a 1962, I guess it was on the tail end of the charm bracelet fad.
