    The Answer

This issue is from L. Chr. Lauer in Nurnberg, Germany, who struck a series of ten unofficial bronze 2 centavos patterns in 1890. They were issued to the Mexican states of: Campeche, Coahuila, Mexico, Nuevo Leon, Puebla, Queretaro, San Luis Potosi, Tlaxcala, and Zacatecas, plus a medal commemorating the 80th anniversary of Mexican independance in 1890.

Kind of an obscure issue, gotta be really in to Mexican coinage to know about this series, I guess. One winner this time, nesvt. Congratulations! Your 1959 Civil War Money book is on the way!

Next 'Guess What' will be something a bit closer to home.

    Well done, nesvt!

cdb1950... keep them coming! If nothing else, I'll gain some knowledge. :)

Thanks cdb1950! I found it on page 948 of the Krause book (19th Century World Coins).
So thanks to the moderators and members too. I'm a Morgan guy. After seeing so many outstanding images of non-US coins, I bought a Krause book for Christmas.
