I have some 1982-d pennies & am having a hard time determining if these are small or large dates. I have weighed each of them and noted it above each. Was hoping someone could tell me which size dates they are & how much these are worth.

Suggestion - Post your questions over at the Error coins forum and not the What's it worth forum.
First figure out what you have.. Worry about value last.

I'm not trying to be bossy. Just trying to help.

Like Mr. P. said, it's great that you are learning, so I hope you will take this for what it is worth.

The last sentence of the image you posted says that 95% copper pennies are worth more than double face value. That is blatantly false! Since copper pennies are an alloy, they are only worth about 25% of the price offered for Grade A copper. Keep in mind that it is currently illegal to melt pennies.

You might want to delete that part of your image.

Chris, I'm curious. Do you know if it is also illegal to melt silver or 40% halves?

Chris’s comment does a great job of correcting what the image says wrong. I would leave it there now, or else people won’t be able to see it.

The internet is an amazing place. You can get good information, like the pictures and analysis of the dates, along with bad information, like suggestions that people hoard copper cents for the metal value.

It’s good to have CoinTalk. Here there is a healthy back-and-forth where good information is raised up and bad information is pushed down.

I liked your reply. It’s both good information and helpful, too.

Okay! Start by copying this image to your albums or where ever it is that you store your photos. Make sure it is there before you delete the other image with the text. See if that works.

I think it just applies to pennies and nickels because silver coins are no longer made for circulation. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
