ID help. Bronze blob.

    I can not locate any information on this piece. Any info will be greatly welcomed. I have been working on IDing a small primitive/odd collection and this is in it. and so far my research has been futile.

    Looks like it's a bit of bean money (mameita-gin) from Japan with character fragments for the Tenpo era. They are supposed to be silver though fairly debased by then (I'm away from my books at the moment).

    Thank you very much for your information. I called it bronze do to the patina on it.
    I do think it could be silver or an alloy there of. This site I found with your help says 80-13% silver.

    The imprint (inclusion) could be Daikoku the god of wealth. I am making a guess here. I checked both my David Hartwell book - Early Japanese Coins and the JNDA catalog. I could not come up with anything useful.
