It's just a dark spot. In lay terms, a lamination is the skin peeling apart. It doesn't look like anything is peeling off there, does it? But that's what you look for in a lam, the surface coming off, or the remnants of it left on the coin.

You are looking too closely And you are trying to convince yourself something is there, when there isn't. This is a psychological phenomena where since you are searching for an error you are determined to make one out of nothing. More commonly known as pareidolla.
@Andrew8890, I see the magnified "S" shape. Will you clarify something? Are you saying that "S" is inside that little rim dent just opposite Lincoln's face?
