Hope she recovers soon and for the better. Coins become of much lesser importance. Cheers to both of you. Sincerely.
After admiring too many big, lumpy, Alexandrian Tetradrachms on CT, I decided to pick one up - just arrived today. Roman Provincial, Salonina (wife of Gallienus, Augusta AD 254-268) Potin Tetradrachm of Alexandria, Egypt, dated RY 6 of Valerian I and Gallienus (AD 258/259) Obv: KOPNHΛIA CAΛѠNЄINA CEB, draped bust right, wearing stephane Rev: Eagle standing left, head right, holding wreath in beak; L ς (date) across fields. Ref: Köln 2964; Dattari (Savio) 5321; K&G 91.20; Emmett 3747.6 Size: 12.29g, 22.5mm With best wishes to you and your wife.
This year has been pretty dry for me. Some have said the market is soft right now, but I have not seen that to be the case (at least for average coins). Nearly all of the coins I have gone after this year went twice what I would pay, so as a result I only have 6 so far! And...I am really getting to the point I just need to buy something. Anything!
That's about how I felt (and still do). I just needed to occupy my mind and coins along with attribution and history does that for a short while. Nice coins by the way
That's about the same length of time for me also. I sold off quite a few coins over the summer so that I can concentrate on the area which interests me the most. I do love my Indo-Scythians however so when I sold one I later decided that I shouldn't have. This is my latest acquisition to replace the one I sold. I also noticed that @Roerbakmix uses a beautiful Indo-Scythian tetradrachm as an avatar.
@Deacon Ray Really like yours! Apart from the lot of medieval silver coins that's posted here, I've bought a nice Danube Celts AR drachm: Ruler: Unknown, possible Sirmium mint 200-100 BC Denomination: AR drachm Obs: Laureate head of Zeus right with. Dot in hair.; rev: Horse heading left. Dot under tail. Circle with small cross (?) in field above. Ruler: Unknown Denomination: AR drachm Obs: Unidentified; rev: Galloping horse to the left. Weight: 1.37g; Ø:1.6cm Catalogue: Acquired: 07-06-2019
