I was looking around on eBay eBay found a 1950 proof set that I'm interested in but before I shell out that kinda cash I'd like some input from you guys. I tried to download the pictures but couldn't so I have some screen shots. They are asking like $450 for the set, any feed back and opinions are appreciated, thank you. Well that is an average of $90 per coin. The Cent in MS65 RD is showing $75 in coin world which is retail. You have the grades look up the prices...you can even enter the slab #s and see what NGC values each one as.

I didn't know you could look up the numbers, thank you for that info.

A suggestion: I’ve put together slabbed proof sets from 1938 through 1942, along with some from the early 1950s. If you buy each coin separately, you can decide what appeals and doesn’t.

Besides, they are fun projects to hunt down. Just a thought that worked for me.

I don’t know about this particular year, but none of them have a CAM designation, nor do they look like cameo. I like the Franklin, however it’s a PF62 so pretty much low grade for a proof coin. Go to ngccoin.com and look them up... you’ll have another set of pictures which usually helps getting a better idea of what they really look like.

    E.g. https://www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/2092884-046/62/
I see hairlines on a coin with great eye appeal, they may explain why it’s only a 62.
