Can someone please tell me what kind of Mark's these are on these two coins...1981 looks like strips or lines through it...and I have no clue of what this pattern is above the 3 in 1983...
I believe the 1981 is roller marks. “1978 to 1982 saw many examples of these. They are not a true "Woody" which is an improper alloy mix. They are most likely roller marks, characterized by relatively straight and evenly spaced stripes. Looks like the reeds of another coin slammed into it.
On the 83 the rim looks funny between WE and TRUST. Like a very small clip or weird photo effect. Can you post a photo of both sides?
