Is that indented? Hard to tell from the pic. I don't see any metal flow outward from the area, which would be a good indication it was struck through and not hit or damaged.
what about the other side? there's two sides. If one is indented .. the other side could have the opposite reaction. Thus it's *always* important to show both sides of the coin.
One thing you want to look for is for the design to be impressed into the notch. If you can see any of the design, then you know that it was done after being minted. Because if there was a foreign object on the die, then the design won't (depending upon the material) be transferred to the planchet. If done afterwards, the design elements are pushed into the notch. of course the other side may hold clues too ... i'm not sure, but I think I see some design elements being pushed into the notch.
There are marks on the reverse that coincide with the obverse mark. I don't see design in the mark, except the very center line, which is raised.
