Unless a poster edited their post, the only exclamation mark I see is the one in your post #7 until cpm9ball posted #14. If you wish to learn about coins, stick around and learn. If you just hope to get rich by finding an error coin, you will most likely get very, very old first.

I used one in post #3 to emphasize what was said in post #2. Never thought an ! to be offensive.

Ok the nonsense about trying to get rich is out of line...my 14 year old daughter started asking me about coins she had...that's what got it started...this is the kind of comment that is rude and unnecessary...my question has been answered a long time ago...so there was no need for that...I take it you must already be some old and bitter person and I guess you've been trying to strike it rich all of your life...

It’s really just a sad sad day once again. As I stated a few times it unfortunately has been proven and double unfortunate continues to be shown in context that far to many “Newbies” have the almost exact same feeling of receiving answers from certain C. T. Members as being hurtful answers, poor reply’s, criticism etc.
Come on, just exactly what is wrong with providing a (Soft) word of ones ideas, thoughts, suggestions, examples to those asking for assistance, instead of always reading how far to many newbies are being made to feel. Sure, some may have a bendable heart and have a harder time accepting corrective criticism, but IMHO the truth speaks loud here and their are just countless individuals still bringing up the exact same feelings of not being spoken to in a very friendly manner..
They can’t all be wrong, it’s quite easy to see it for ones self, just read the question but pay particular attention to the answers as they are given.
Again, we (All) make mistakes, we are all allowed our opinions of course, but let us make it so that the newbies will want to continue returning here to this wonderful site.
Hats off to those who provide such valuable information and useful guides to of of us needing such resources. Maybe to those waking up on the wrong side of the bed, remember, take a deep breath and relax. Your expertise in our coin world is and always will be needed, especially if and when it’s given in the proper content.
To you new collectors, hang in there, it will get easier.

Your reply is the first rude comment I've seen on this thread. The comment "...you must be some old and bitter person and I guess you've been trying to strike it rich all of your life" is totally uncalled for. Every answer to you has been truthful. You were calling everyone "so mean" after only 4 replies. You said that before others were even given a chance to reply. Show me anything in the first 4 replies that was mean. I don't see it.

It's a slightly misaligned die (or off center) strike' Does not add a premium to the coin.

I was only responding to someone else on this thread that was indeed rude to me for no reason...there are 2 pages of post..

Honest, straight talk can sometimes sound rude when it was not intended to be such. Handing out bad news is not always easy.

I honestly am trying to learn about what is considered errors on coins first.. I didn't at all take it as bad news...some of the responses was kind of over snappy...almost like anger..

CT can seem somewhat Rude. Just remember we do not know how a person is reading a post, or how they interpret their own response, nor how they think another person will interpret their response, etc etc etc.

being on CT helps. we get many that come on here on their first post and wanting to know if they have a million dollar rare coin that they just found in their pocket change by looking at it and thinking it looks different. and some false youtube video makes them believe it's worth a fortune.

For example (numbers are made up but probably somewhat accurate)
We see 7 out of 10 are in the "get rich" segment where they post for a bit and find out it's not "easy"
2 out of 10 stay for a while and keep trying to figure out what errors are vs their pocket change, then quit as they realize it's not easy.
and 1 out of 10 stay and learn.

just take a look at a few other threads by other ppl from new posters in the last day.

I personally can see and understand (Both) sides of this issues. I’d have to fully agree with all subject matter. But human nature being what it is, always have been and continues to be, will result in all of us taking the easiest path to what we seek.
But that doesn’t mean all of us are unable to do our part to make the path smoother for those who wish to follow. They have their terms, just as we have our own!
If what others have spoken about here, voicing their concerns and feelings with receiving answers and comments from certain C T members wasn’t an issues, then the subject I believe would not continue to repeatedly be brought up?
As the saying goes, if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it obviously must be a duck, Lol
