I'll start this thread by saying we need a new forum designated as a variety forum being this is what it is a variety and not an error. With that said I have found my first 1972 D DDO and I'm pretty sure it is the DD0-02, it is not in the best of condition and I think I can clear some of that up once I go to the store and get some pure acetone and a better means of taking pictures lol. Any who here is my latest find.
IMO it does look a lot like WDDO=002. I've seen a few posts on Coin Talk where using acetone on copper coins is not a good idea. I'd check with other members before using it. What you say about it being a variety and not an error is true but people have been posting varieties in the "Error Forum" for as long as I've been on this site. http://www.lincolncentresource.com/FAQ/errors_vs_varieties.html Maybe it would be a good idea to contact the moderators and see what they have to say about starting a "Variety Forum". Also, I've seen enough here about never cleaning a coin but it's yours so you can do whatever you feel like doing with it.
yes people have been posting varieties in a error forum for as long as I've been here as well. Guess there's no reason to change it.
come to think of it I don't know why I even thought of the suggestion because the majority of people don't know the difference of a variety and an error so it would be a pointless endeavor for the site creator to make a new forum for it.
