Was found in a old roll of coins marked 1940 , along with a coin marked 194 . It was checked and both coin came out at 3.1g. if real what's the value?

Welcome to Coin Talk. Picture of the coin obverse and reverse will be most helpful is answering your question.

As per your description and no photo the missing number in the date is probably caused by a grease or debris filled Die. Very common and only worth about two cents but it's nice to find and makes a great conversation piece.

    Welcome to CT.

Looks like normal wear on a low grade coin.

Looks like it had quite a bit of wear but the last 2 digits have less detail than the first 2 digits. As I stated earlier this was caused by a grease or debris filled Die when the coin was minted. The last 2 digits were weak from the filled Die and with wear it's what you see know.
