I was looking at ebay yesterday and came across a 1955/55 Lincoln. The pics were lousy and the coin looked scratched and beat-up. There was only an hour to go so I asked the seller why he was asking a $799. starting bid when I felt that the most it was worth is $500.00? There were no bids on it so, I gather that I wasn't the only one who thought that. He re-took the pics and it turned out a nice solid AU. I hurried up and placed an $801.99 bid and beat out by 5 seconds. edited Worst mistake I ever made in coin collecting.

I don't own a 1955 Doubled Die. One day I would like to.
Sounded like a great opportunity. It happens.

Once you receive the coin if you don't like it in hand use the eBay return policy and get a refund. Live and learn.
