So you're saying you think that is damage and not a mint error? My first thought was some type of planchet flaw. I'm just asking.

There is no such thing as "interesting damage." All of the coins in this thread are mutilated and should be melted.

Well it's a damaged planchet. Struck on lines on Lincoln's face NW to SE and die crack above his ear.
It's not pmd. But its a mint damaged coin lol this one should be cool to show here. CM190804-102634001.jpg CM190804-102650002.jpg CM190804-102720004.jpg CM190804-102750005.jpg CM190804-102812007.jpg CM190804-102909008.jpg CM190804-102926009.jpg

I think he's looking for coins after they left the mint.

I’ll tell you, Physics.... I own a construction supply house. My customers bring me their cut-offs and burn pile wood that I turn around and use to make race cars and whirlings for kids at the orphanage...... Some folks see the beauty that lies in the junk.

You're comparing apples and Toyotas. A better comparison would be if someone took that cool racer car and broke the wheels off it. That would be a damaged toy, and wouldn't really be useful. Same with the damaged coins.

I know some of you love coins so much that it hurts you to look at one that is not normal. But what I like about damaged coins is they provide a new kind of find because there is so many different looking kinds of damage and if it wasn't important in some cases why do we have web sites that want you to contact them on damaged coins. Ok Paddyman why do you send them off to have them graded and going around with a metal detector and finding them in the ground means they are probably no good so why do you keep them. None of mine have been in the ground I find them with my own two eyes naturally. Why is it if a damaged coin is found to be valuable like a cud coin the value is made by the amount of damage so the larger the cud of metal the more its worth. There is no listing for the value of a damaged coin its just what the seller wants to sell it for or what the buyer will pay for it. I have sold a damaged coin for more than it would have went for if it wasn't and it was one that Paddyman would have said was worthless so he liked it because of the way it looked not he knew it had no value but to him it was having a coin that looked like it did. So here is a look at some more of my worthless coins. picture.png picture.png
