I'm not a coin expert, I noticed this error without a loupe or visual aid very clearly in pocket change. I do know some error coins are worth value or have keepsake value. (This year happens to be my son's birth year). I havnt read or seen of a similar error. Asking for opinions here, no clue what to do with it. Thanks guys. Chuck
Offhand, I don't know if it's worth much, but it's very cool and one to hold onto. I'll look it up on doubledie.com.
Look up "Hot Lips" Kennedy Half on google and there are a bunch of threads (not youtube videos!). There are some authentic Hot Lips DDOs, such as the 66 SMS, and much mechanical and strike doubling not worth anything. Anyway, good research and lots of images to compare yours to. Many are not nearly as dramatic as yours Edit: Is the ear doubled a bit as well? And can you get a clear pic of In God We Trust?
I would say yes to a Doubled Die Obverse. Here is a pic and link to a similar variety on a 1966 Kennedy. http://www.doubleddie.com/1141429.html
