Wasn't trying to publicly denigrate anyone. That's why I apologized both by posting a response early on in the thread, and sending a private message. I wanted the person to know that I was just teasing and meant no animosity.
It wasn't that which is actually reasonable, but this (highlighted): "He couldn't take my teasing and put me on ignore. I sent him a personal message apologizing if I offended him and telling him that the posts weren't meant to offend, only in fun. Didn't get the courtesy of a response but maybe that is because he didn't see my personal message due to the ignore feature. Anyway, he became my 1st and only "ignore". I was pretty tired of the third person rhetoric anyway. Had a girlfriend around high school time that did it. Drove me crazy then too." This was then followed by someone else commenting something negative, and I think with no real effect other than to maybe pile on. And to emphasize your issues. Lots of people here don't like his third person talk, or referring to things with cat-central words. I did not care for it either at first, but then I had to ask myself what it was. So someone else is acting in a manner most won't. Does it affect the coins he posts on and does it really detract from me enjoying seeing him post his finds, etc.? The quick answer is no, and so let him be him here. And encourage him to post. This is a coin forum after all. Once I realized it essentially did not matter to me if he referred to himself as I or as Meow or even anything, it magically became a non-issue to me. You don't like it so much you put him on ignore, but then have to announce why and such???? I don't get that if it is not for the drama. I'm glad you said you were only teasing, but still that did not end it, eh?
I don't do drama, but I see what you mean. In any event it's over and time to get back to the coin theme.
Yea Meow has heard nothing of this. Guess that ignore feature works. And see Meow did not miss anything worthwhile, so good feature. Thanks for your support. Sad, that bullies need to hurt others to make themselves feel good.
I got five in the mail. Two were as you described. I used the return form and sent the the two back. Cost me $5.50 for postage to do so.
Meow thought they where two per Person or Cat. What a fiasco, US Mint! Are you reading any of this !!>??
I was going to tell y'all about our 6 dogs and a cat, but, I see some of you have had enough. I will say that my cat is company when I visit the forum, sitting in my lap. I did have a question about the coin and currency set. I got mine Friday. It was wrapped in newsprint quality paper in their typical box. I had seen where some of you have trouble with the dollar bill being in full in the window. So do I. If you find a way to get the bill to be 100% in the window, please let me know what you did to put it where it belongs. I've tried shaking it, tapping it on the desk, and prayed with no luck. Thanks
@DM1 Posted their rather invasive repair for it. Meow may take one more crack at it before returning them.
Meow creates these threads to cause fighting between other members here. If you can't see that you have not looked at the history enough.
I know, most people aren't as nuts as me, trying something like that. But now I have a presentable set without having to go through the return process with the mint, and probably end up getting another messed up item, because it certainly looks like they didn't check any of them before they sent them out. For those who bought a bunch of them, I'd send them back too, and get the mint to pay for postage. I only bought one. BTW, lighter fluid - the kind for use in Zippo lighters and such, is about the best thing I've found for completely removing unwanted adhesives from most any surface without damaging the surface at all. As for the other stuff going on here, no comment.
Meow looked it up, the Mint will not pay for return postage. Its almost not worth it. It will cost Meow like guessing $8-10 to send them back. Meow is outraged that this has happened to such a high percentage of the items. Anyone here have any pull with the US Mint, or any sort of relationship with them? Meow thinks they should issue an apology, to us here for this fiasco.
And all of my bloody posts will probably be deleted by morning. but Gods Teeth, this guys 'speak' annoys the devil out of me......
