Never seen it but I was aware of the massive counterfeiting efforts of Germany during WWII. The dollar was never affected due to the BEP printing Hawaii Notes and African Notes. The reason behind them was if Germany or Japan ever invaded either one of the two we would no longer accept the money state side.
With what the German's were doing, I don't think it would have helped. On another note, the constant changing bills since 9-11 is to also prevent massive counterfeiting of bills in the US made by Islamic groups. In fact, after the Lebanese attacks on Hezbollah by Israel the terrorists gave each resident a substantial amount of American cash, which I'm quite certain was counterfeit originating in Iran. Ruben
