The doubling on the date and also the mintmark appears to be MD, The Liberty question photo has too much glare to be able to make a determination, but there is a good chance it is MD also, What Wexler said was : "doubling seen on doubled dies will be seen as raised and rounded secondary images, just like the normal images on the coin. Doubled letters will often show “splits” in the serifs of the letters whenever the letters have serifs." https://doubleddie.com/58222.html Look at the illustrated DD ( split serifs) in his article and you will see they have similar height and rounding, not one normal and the other "smeared" pr flattened, which would be MD. Like I said. I can't tell on your coin due to the reflections. IMO Jim Thomas, Thanks , but I do not consider myself in that grouping
Thomas, thanks, But I also am not a Variety specialist nor is Fred Weinberg.. he said it himself. Tag @Rick Stachowski who knows a lot about Doubled Dies
Right after the quote you referred to from Wexler was the line " If the letters have squared off corners, those corners will often show strong “notches”. That is what I was referring to.
