Hey, this is the reverse side of a 1964 Jefferson nickel proof. Does this look like machine doubling or a doubled die? It's very minor so I found it hard to tell. Thanks!
I think it shows some signs of a doubled die and should be looked at by someone more expert than myself, but I am opining it's doubled.
Those are great pictures. In my opinion, that is a doubled die variety. The split serifs are a pretty good indicator of the doubling and sets them apart from machine or mechanical doubling. Nice find.
That is a nice DDR. Wouldn't know for sure which yours is but it surely is has a nice spread and definitely a keeper. Thanks for sharing. Super nice pictures BTW!
Tommypski...it looks like a light to medium spread...you should try to use the CONECA listings to give it a DDR number. http://www.conecaonline.org/content/jeffersondoubleddies19641969.html Larry Nienaber
