    I am new to this and we are not sure what this is. I was supposed to have an actual picture but was unable to get it yet. So my cousin drew the picture the best he could. The shape might be a little off. The top is the front and the bottom is what the back looks like. He tried to draw some of the writing on it. Any info would be appreciated.

    Surprisingly enough, I can identify it from that. Looks to be a prutah of the Jewish king Alexander Jannaeus, c. 103-76 BC. Also known as the biblical "widows mite".

    Thank'ye. I've been reading Mesheror's book on the Jewish coinages, I'm glad to finally put it to use.

    Thanks, Idid not think it would be that easy. They found this in Oklahoma in a creek bed.

    It certainly does look like a Widow's Mite, even the protuberance shown is distinctive for these coins.
