Heat waves apparently make crop circles more evident. https://historybytez.com/2018/07/19...ed-in-ireland-thanks-to-the-british-heatwave/ That page has two photos of crop circles (but no coins).
Back in the 80s archaeologist Gordon Maxwell used this method to locate Roman sites in Scotland. It revolutionised how people envisioned Roman Britain's northern frontier. Great to see something good coming out of that awful heat wave!
My family are Irish and I have been there many times.. from my experience there is a chance this is something and an equal chance the local lads had a few too many at the pub and decided to prank a local farmer.
They have already found a bunch of stuff apparently. I’ve never heard of pranks for this type of crop circle, though I’ve also never heard of crop circle used in archaeology.
Back in the 90's I enjoyed living in the UK. I went to Stonehenge, and several other ancient historical sites. One site that IMPRESSED me the most was Avebury. Incredible. THe Henge was large enough to encompass a TOWN, huge avenue, and Silbury mound is incredible. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avebury They typcially had "Crop Circles" in the field near the Henge that was cool, but you knew were fake. It was more to set a "mood". However, when we visited, I was looking out from the Henge to notice the Crop Circle. I began to laugh: It was a MERCEDES-BENZ circle...
Just to clarify - ( please don't take this as me being pedantic ) Crop Circles = evidence of modern activity Crop MARKS = evidence of older/ ancient activity I nearly spat my tea out when I read the title of the post and then expected to see that alien freak on my screen. Thankfully no freak. I also have to agree with @Alegandron regarding Avebury and the surrounding features, mind blowing history.
And have been thoroughly debunked. https://skepticalinquirer.org/2014/09/crop_circles_a_not-so-convincing_case/ https://skepticalinquirer.org/2002/...tery_of_crop_circles_and_their_orbs_of_light/
