1901-1910 1 cash. its Soo small! It's crazy how they kept up with small coins like this! It's Very nice piece.
Nice copper! Just a note, reverse (top pic) needs to be rotated 90 deg. counter clockwise, and the obverse (bottom) is upside down. What is the weight? It should be either .65g or .48g with the latter one being the next ruler (1938-49).
They're little more than half the diameter of a U.S. cent. So, yeah...a photo next to a cent and even a dime would be a great comparison to show us!
Nice coin. That looks to be Uncirculated. Numista lists this coin as having Medal Alignment. They show the reverse with a backwards C located at the bottom. And a diameter of 10.8 mm. If your curious check out link. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces21870.html.
Thanks, alurid...I've never bothered to translate any of the brahmic scripts of the region as my interests lay mostly further east. I think I'll need to fully familiarize myself with it more. Edited to say that I think I'll stop looking at my coins for the region upside down now too
I have one of these little guys as well. I thought this coin was small until I picked up this silver struck coin from Travencore form just a few decades before (1860-1880). The milled one cash is about 11 mm, the stuck silver "chuckram" is just 6 mm.
Mine also. That would be a cool thread. Post the smallest coin you own. And see what they have and how many of these lol.
My smallest is 7mm Tipu Sultan (1782-1799) Kingdom of Mysore AU Fanam, 7mm, Patan mint OBV: HA (initials of Hyder Ali, Tipu Sultan's father) within inner linear and outer dotted border REV: 1218 (1789 AD) Zarb Patan (Patan mint) within inner linear and outer dotted border (KM 128.1)
