I'm not aware of any coin being struck thru cloth on both sides. The Mercury Dime in the OP's first photo has been wire brushed.
Why is everything such a grand invaluable discovery anymore? Cant we just enjoy the rich history that holding a coin brings us anymore? This hobby is going to pot.
I also see no luster. Fire was my first thought. But I am sure there are other possibilities. Melt value coin.
I've been looking at this entry and I was wondering if you could tell me what to do with all of the damaged coins that I have collected for over 20 years. I put them in a clean butter tub and just look at them from time to time. I don't want to clean them and I really want to preserve them as best I can without do more damage. Any ideas? Thank you.
You can put the silver ones in acetone. I use a glass jar with a lid. The acetone won't hurt the coins, or harshly clean them. But it can remove some built up organic crud. Then rinse them.
Another poster that wants to battle with the group over his/her claims... It opens with the "...my haters will...". An immediate flag as to don't state the truth/opinion as you see it. Go find a "safe room" at the local University... More bandwidth wasted.
I’m going to be honest with the OP. I’m tired of your attitude and your mouth. Take your junk coins and get out of here. Plain enough?
Him and the cat are just here to tick people off. Based on the rules, we have to live with it. We can also just laugh at them.
