I think this is an error coin but I'm not sure

    It looks like die deterioration to me, but then, you didn't say what you think you see.

    Welcome to Coin Talk. What exactly do you see that makes you think this is an error coin? IMO it looks like it was struck with a very worn die.

    Struck with a very worn die that left heavy striation lines on the reverse field.
    Not really an error. Just low quality coin. Common with Roosevelt dimes.
