1990D quarter. Crack, break, or cud?

    Got this in change tonight fueling up my car. Is the crack in george's head considered a cud since it involves the rim of the coin?     Damage ,generally, wouldn't be risen from the surface.

    When it has been gouged out it would. You can clearly see that in your pictures even though they are a bit grainy.

    Based on your pics, the raised areas that you see look like displaced metal along the edges of a scratch
