I understand and I agree. My main point was IHC's don't have to be high grade for me to like them. My second point was - I also have some graded IHC's that I can see all of liberty with a 5x loupe - yet the minute I try to take a picture or use something higher parts of liberty become lost. So I could see all of liberty in your picture - faint but there. Of course it could be just my eyes playing tricks on me. Plus the more collectors I can encourage to buy IHC's, the more demand there will be, the higher the prices will become - then boom I sell my set and retire(its my dream don't ruin it). :) Basically I like all coins in all grades - so for others if you like IHC's collect them(well just like anything else) in the grade you can afford.

So my apologies to the op - but I really like IHC's(plus large cents, draped bust halves, etc. I try to hit all those threads. :)). So I like to encourage others.

Mark and JMC - No problems. Lets share info. This is how we get better as collectors. I love seeing what others have and what they have to say about their collections. So have at it.

    Mark - I love your dream! ;)

Actually I am gonna start up the IHC collection, first I like the fact that there are no real key dates per sey besides the 1877 of coarse. I just cant get over the look of them. I have around 10 right now, but i think with my next show I go too that will change, I am gonna try for at least VF details, and see where that gets me. when I get back too the 1876 and before however that is when i am gonna start reaching further into my wallet :( I have a 1863 IHC that is made of a different alloy for some reason, which is pretty cool. but yeah anyways, thats my story and im sticking too it. good day :)

Actually two key coins 1877 and 1909-S, but as far as I am concerned a date set is a complete set. Their are a bunch of semi-keys - but I even like those in G/VG shape and they are reasonable around that grade. As a matter of fact my current coin is only a good, but that is a 1869/9 - so I put it in my dansco album under the 1869/69, close enough for me. The 9/9 is really hard to see, but it is there.

Also from 1859 to 1863 they were Copper Nickel. In 1864 there were 3 varieties a copper nickel, a bronze without L and bronze with L. I recommend Rick Snows book on IHC's - I think it cost me about $15 at a local book store. Very good in my opinion.

Enjoy and have fun - I really like my IHC's.

I wanna buy a replica just too throw in there so the book looks full, (1909-S) actually i just looked it up and the price isnt as bad as you'd think! it is only around $500 in VF condition. so i might just spring for it.

Yep - all of them except that 1877 are resonable in the VF range.
