Mexican Empire - Maximillian I 1867 AR 1 Peso - last year of his Reign, YEAH, the FIRING SQUAD. Ex: @ominus1
This is a 5 baht coin from Thailand, dated 2554 of the Buddhist Era (2011 AD). A very common coin, still spendable "pocket change" in Thailand, and notable only for where I got it: in the reject bin of a Coinstar machine in Baltimore, Maryland (USA). Guess someone just got back from vacation.
With PCGS new stance on PL coins I am on the hunt and Hvae picked up a few examples recently. This is one of them. Hope y'all enjoy!
Thanks @Mark Metzger - I can't say it is really my area of expertise, but I believe what you have there is one of the first milled Charles II Twopences - the undated ones issued presumably between 1662 and 1667 - the first dated ones appeared in 1668. Reference in the Spink book is S3387. These often form part of a Maundy collection, though technically they were issued for circulation as well as for the Maundy ceremony, which was started by Charles II I believe. I hope that helps!
I looked up the Austrian Florin in the Red Book of Foreign Coins. It states the Florin is made of Silver? and VF is $6.50, EF is 13, and Unc is $20.
You can never go wrong with Swiss coins. Nothing flashy; they just go about their business in a dignified and understated way.
Not a high quality coin for most people but I am really happy to own a coin of Napoleon. I had been looking for something affordable for some time.
Purchased these from @stldanceartist. Nice little variety of round things..... This 1895-R Italian Centesimo is ridiculously small at only 15 mm. I was totally surprised when I saw it. There's also pronounced doubling on the last A of ITALIA. Amazing that it hasn't been lost to time.
