You're correct. You can voice your opinion here without fear of censorship (within reason), LOL... You may however, get torched for it, but the post will remain for posterity. :)

threads like this one are what keep me coming back, thanks to all.

what is up with centsless and the lawsuit. I do not get CW but I have bought from centsless and I consider him to be a totally honorable dealer. I really am curious about that.

I've never defended the hosts over at the PCGS forum. Oh sure, I've held my tongue once or twice and pointed out when they were being unfairly attacked but I feel compelled to defend their forum.

I haven't always agreed 100% with the moderation but the threads deleted appear to normally be because of legal considerations or because they are being unfairly attacked. I also haven't always agreed with the bannings and some are most regrettable. I also believe some might have been avoidable or temporary but in most cases (and no I don't want to discuss specific cases) those who were banned expected it or brought it on.

The forum has evolved a great deal more over the years than its reputation. I simply think it's unfair to criticize the moderation in isolation and very unfair to blame them for most of the thread deletions.

Perhaps the solution to the grading "problem" is to simply describe a new system and define the parameters. After one or two series are completed perhaps experts in other areas will see the value and do their series as well. When collectors learn real grading they might demand it from the services.

Centsless is one of the petioners in a lawsuit filed against Ebay, the ANA and PNG, who together decided on the NGC, NCS, PCGS, ANACS and ICG only policy regarding slabbed coins.....search this site for "lawsuit" and I'm sure you'll find the threads about it

And here I thought I was looking at the larger picture. When I find that an organizations actions are not consistant with their stated policies, my larger picture asks what else they might be capable of doing that is underhanded or just plain incompetent. I'm also the type that often times asks the question "why" and the answer is usually quite revealing.

If nothing else, perhaps this thread will cause viewers to realize that knowledge is the key to collecting.
