hello all first of all I need to thank all of you about u trying help me to find and learn about coin I want to know plz what this coin id And if it's fake or original Thank u so much all
I think these are Roman Provincials, and they look genuine to me. This isn't an area I am very familiar with, so I can't identify them further, but that last one looks like Caracalla from Seleucis and Pieria, Laodicea ad Mare- this one on Vcoins is similar, if not exact: https://www.vcoins.com/en/stores/sp..._caracalla_right_rev_roma/806288/Default.aspx
The second one looks like Severus Alexander. I don't understand what the SC is doing on the reverse of the first coin, because it doesn't look like any imperial issue that I've seen. Plus, that fact that all three of them have a very similar patina and what appear to be casting bubbles makes me suspicious. How did you acquire these?
Thank for ur information I got a lot of think from my father old friend The problem I don't have experience on this
I think these might be cast tourist copies. In many places you will find people hanging around ancient ruins looking for foreign tourists to whom they offer "ancient coins" at cheap prices. I had a friend return from a trip to Turkey with a few fake coins that looked very similar to yours.
They might be fakes. But they are pretty elaborately done for the "tourist fakes" I've seen - the remnants of green patina in particular. To me, they look like harshly-cleaned genuine coins. Weights would probably help determining this - tourist fakes don't usually bother getting weights close. But I could be wrong - better-than-average "tourist fakes" is a possibility.
Moda888. As a non-expert, my feeling is that your coin is too evenly round for an allegedly, ancient coin.
yes i try to hard to clean it with vinger and limon and many cmical home think take many day from me it was some of thiem full black or fully green this the weight for evey coin maybe can help in tha last photo this some of what i have i clean the 2 sliver and the other i will clean soon
If there were fully black or green when you received them, then it is likely that I am wrong and that the are genuine.
I would not clean any more until you learn the correct method. Removing everything down to bare metal pretty much ruins an ancient coin...
