    Are those die cracks between the 4, 5, O, M, and 1 ??

or left over casting marks ??

And that on the bottom edge of the reverse?

I've seen a lot of those coins and don't remember those marks.

But I do like the 8 Real coins. Our dollar, half and quarter dollar system was based on the 8 Real, and the way it could be, and very often was, cut into "bits".

Anyone remember this pep rally chant from high school?

    " 2 Bits, 4 Bits, 6 Bits, a Dollar,
All who love Coin Talk !!,
Stand up and Holler !! "

Those were the days, weren't they ? lolol

Die cracks, that’s one of the reasons I got it, and the earlier date/price.

    This 1900 O Morgan is a bit worn, however I like the toning and "circ-cam" appearance. 1900 O US 1 d obv.JPG 1900 O US 1 d rev.JPG

The host coin is an ECU from the Villeneuve Saint Andre mint?
I think I see an R in the center of the reverse.

    BTW, very nice coin!
