Here's a saying that you have all heard before, I think, "Water, water everywhere, but not a drop to drink." Shipwrecked people shout it, as they drift upon the sea, It sure is sad you see, but the saddest cry I've ever heard in my whole entire life. Is the one you hear, when you lend and ear, to a Coin Collector's Wife. Money, money everywhere, but not a dime to spend; If this keeps up, our marriage is coming to an end. Money in every dresser drawer and money on the shelf; But there isn't one thin dime that I may spend upon myself: Lincoln cents and Mercury dimes, and Washington quarters, too! Some of them are old and worn, and some of them are brand new. I wish my husband cared as much about the way I look, as he does about the pictures in that new coin book.. The paycheck that he gets doesn't mean a thing to me, 'Cause hubby needs a 1909-S Lincoln VDB. As soon as he gets the coin, he'll be looking for some other; I think I'd be better off if I went home to live with mother. One day in desperation, I took shiny half a dollar; He said it was a commemorative, and you should have heard him holler! Another time I took a coin and he said it was a "proof;" When I told him that I had spent it, I thought he'd raise the roof! With all that money 'round the house, we're really very poor; I'm getting sick and tired of it, of that I'm really sure! So, I advise you, single girls, if you want a happy life; Don't marry a coin collector and be a Coin Collector's Wife, Shouting, "Money money everywhere and not a dime to spend;" Don't ever let a coin collector ever be more than just a friend. LOL...very cute mintmark, but not entirely true! Obviously in our house it's the other way around. Throughout my life I've always managed to be the exception to the rule
That's wonderful!!! I have been blessed with a wife that loves coin collecting as much or more than I do... she too is an exception.. She can sit all day with her home made headband holding her loupe in her eye searching coins for errors.. Gives me a headache just watching her...LOL
Since my dad is a collector also, I showed this to my mom...she liked it She said that she would save it for a future daughter-in-law...she will have to save it a looooong time tanner520 I don't think I was the one that told you, but read my signature...it says it all Speedy If your an older collector you can say... LOL.. Uh-HUH.. Sounds like FAMOUS LAST WORDS to me Speedy.. One of these days a nice lady will walk up to you with a coin book or a Dansco full of coins in her hand and that will be the end of you lad!!! You'll melt like tarnish in a coin dip!! LOL
I doubt it mintmark...you might be right but you might not be either The coins would be tempting...but I don't think this is going to happen since I know of no girl coin collectors Speedy
