I got lucky, a teller has a old guy that brings her 50.00 in hand rolled rolls. It is like searching a time capsule , this 1982 large date looks like solid zinc and weighs 2.9 grams. I'm searching for a 1982 D small date solid copper. Found a nice 1971 too.

Sorry, forgot to say hello to everyone after all these years, I was recently laid off so I've had time to play with pennies again.

I have to look through a magnifier to see the 1974-D DDO. A 10X loupe is best. Let me know if you can see it. Glad you got them okay.

Well, my idea to try two Brinks boxes of halves to break me out of the summer silver doldrums did not work, no silver! I did find 14 NIFCs (big whoopee!) and 2 x 1974-D DDOs. Starting on a couple of Loomis boxes today.

Tomorrow, I travel from my small West Texas town to Austin. The wife has a professional association seminar to attend there Saturday, and I'm tagging along. Then the other day, it dawned on me - I have a wide open schedule to visit as many banks as I can. Look out Austin CRHers! Usually I view road trips as a great chance to pick up halves, and I will likely do some of that. But, I'm also trying something different. I figure lately, I am just recycling many of the same clad coins in my town. So I'm taking several thousand dollars of searched halves and will dump as many coins as I can at my banks in Austin (3 of mine have branches there). I did a similar thing a few weeks ago when several hundred dollars of AT halves kept showing up in my Loomis boxes. So I dumped them all in Amarillo (also a different Loomis region). I haven't seem them since! Has anybody else done this? I know my few coins are a drop in the bucket, but I have to try something different to break out of the slump. Plus, to use an old phrase, "I get to stick it to the man!" Whoever, the "man" is, lol. Meanwhile, good luck to all and may the silver start to flow again!

What you are reporting here is encouraging me to get off my duff and search my $1K in Ikes for errors and varieties! Unfortunately, this will need to wait until I have more time this winter. When I do get around to searching them, I will have questions for you!

Went and bought 10 rolls of quarters to search today. Got skunked. Re rolled them and took them to my dump bank. Asked the teller if she had any halves. ( they never do), but she said she had some, but they usually don’t because they order them. If they do get them it’s only if someone brings in a roll from home. Imagine my surprise when she said she had $80 worth. I bought them all and it was a treasure trove. Below is what I found!!!!! Could not believe the great condition of the franklins!

Just picked up a box and I'm only 14 rolls in and have found two forty percenters and a walking liberty 90%. My first walking liberty.

Final tally. 5 ninety percenters 8 forty percenters and 1 1984 s proof I almost missed. And 1 possible 1974 DDO. I have to check that closer.

Well, my finds are pretty anti-climactic compared @Beardigger , congratulations on a super haul! Gotta love those Franklins!
Searched my first Loomis box and found (1) 1964-D & (3) 1974-D DDO (3 in a single box is my new record). 2 of the 3 had "ring around the collar" from the coin wrapping machine and will get tossed back.

I never imagined EVER finding a haul like this. I so rarely even GET rolled half dollars. Was just luck. I was going to just dump my quarters and run, but thought to ask the teller about halfs. Just gotta love it when the coin gods smile upon you! LOL

Yea the coin god definitely blessed you there. It ended not being to bad when i finished the box. The total was 1 walking liberty, 14 40%ers a 1989 S Proof and 3 NIFC's. So not to bad. Its my best yet. The 1989 S proof has some weird coloring tho but its the first proof I've found.

Yea we did good. And i usually keep the 2003s or newer if they are in good condition They are only worth like $2 but that is 4x its face value so ill take it. But that walking liberty was the first 90% i have ever found so you are doing real good in that regard. I just started tho so hopefully the fact that im finding anything means that my area has not been bled dry. Just wish i could find more 90%.
