If anyone is interested in Early Proofs, please read my series that starts in this (Feb. 7th) issue of Coin World (I just got my copy in the mail yesterday, 1/31). I would appreciate any feedback you have. Thank you.

Congratulations. Are you a regular contributer? Anyway, I'm very interested in early proofs. But, I don't have a subscription to Coin World. I saw some early proofs on Ebay recently, though. Nice and expensive.

I'm not a regular contributor; in fact this is my first ever professionally published article. Early proof coinage is something I'm very passionate about and really enjoy. I hope you have a chance to see the article for yourself. I don't think they'll link to it as a freebie at Coin World. Maybe you can borrow a buddy's copy. Let me know what you think.

Very interesting article, Besides the guy getting busted on page 88, and Ed on page 2, your article was 1 of the most interesting articles in the mag--

So much so, that I will be looking into those "depressed" 1817 to 1916 segment to see whats availiable. I learned a few things from this article I did not know, and I will be looking forward to part 2 as far as mintages. I do agree with you tho, many of the gems are probably well beyond my means to purchase, not only because of the low mintages, but if you owned one these babies would you ever sell it??--I certainly would not. You have however touched a area of interest I do like, which is proof coins--from any era--

When I saw your avatar on the article, I knew I found the right peice-It was well written and informative--Good job, I hope you & your partner contribute more stuff-- ;)

    Good job ;)

I almost came close to buying one of the old, original Proof sets once. But I was $3 short of the $286,000 asking price - so I had to pass :D

I really enjoyed your article. It was very well written and informative. It shows a side of coin collecting most collectors don't even think about.

This was a great article and I will look forward to others in the future.

I was drawn to this article because I have been purchasing many coins through Mike Nourse of Alaska Coin Exchange, your co-writer. He has many articles on his web site covering the same topic.

If you haven't checked out this dealer at http://www.alaskacoinexchange.com/ you owe it to yourself to give it a look. His coins are VERY reasonable and most of them have graphics as well, showing each coin. I have been doing business with him for several years and have never been dissappointed. By the way I am writing this endorsement strictly on my own as I have no real tie with him.

Mike is a good guy and I met up with him (so-to-speak even though he's a few thousand miles away!) via purchasing some early proofs from him. Have you already read Part 2? Let me know what you think of Part 3 if you can. Thanks for the kind words!
