Squished Souvenier Pennys

we have all the ones from our local zoo except for one which was gone when we started doing these. darn meerkat! grrrrr

i'll make sure we do the rest that are local. i love elongated coins. i dont like shelling out all the extra coins to get it done but....they're nice.

zincers look like CRAP so never use them.

Actually, do think is it s 2 p. I got a couple there in 1997 and I am pretty sure it was a 2 pence coin (I loved those big coppers).

 

I got quite a few of these from Coney Island to San Fransisco's china town.

I always kind of liked how the zincer looked. They tend to develop bands of copper and silver across them. The problem is how to keep the zinc from oxidizing. I haven't tried it but I would think a very light coating of spray lacquer would do the trick.
