Last week I posted an Augustus denarius with Tiberius as Caesar on the reverse. I was looking at the 3 12 Caesars sets and noticed that the 3rd set had a bronze coin of the Tiberius but rest were silver. I have decided to use the Augustus coin as the Tiberius for that set. That meant I needed another silver coin of Augustus.

This one popped up on Ebay last night and I grabbed it. I have always liked the Bull butting reverse for Augustus and this one was special. It had the bull butting left instead of the normal butting right. I know the coin is worn but I love the portrait and the reverse.

When this coin arrives I will have 3 complete 12 Caesars sets in silver.

I saw the coin listed too, a nice score. I like it.

Nice one, Andrew! I'm a big gusher over Augustus silver (or any metal)... It's very attractive and it's wear isn't distracting at all. Well done!

I bought a handful of coins from Gatewest a few weeks ago and am eagerly awaiting their arrival (it had to cross the border).

I don't mind the wear at all. Nice coin. I have a similar coin, but the bull is butting right and the coin is broken.

    Well done @Orfew

It's one of my prefered types for Augustus, even though they're not rare at all

Wasn't it just last night we were discussing another Augustus bull denarius?

    At any rate, nice pick-up!

I have met them at past coin shows. They are good to deal with. It is hard to be patient with coins on the way.
