One of my favorite world coins now! 1861-1911 It's in really great shape! Looks uncirculated to me. Don't know much about these but I will
Italy and France always have had gorgeous world coins. In fact, there are MANY European coins that were gorgeous produced around 1910 it seems. I have a silver 2 Lira that is one of my favorite coins.
Beautiful coin. Italy has a few from this time period that I like. I just organized some. I’ll look for it and get a photograph.
You are so right!!! Someday the Alien/Time Travel conspiracists will hold this coin up as an example. Love the Italian coins from the first half of the 20th century. Some real beauties and the Italian mint designers are responsible for my personal favorites, the Albanian coins of the Zog years. The King of Italy was an avid coin collector and in fact wrote some rather extensive books. His influence is the reason the Italian coins were so excellent. OP posted a great coin!
Awesome! Your coin is commemorating the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the Kingdom of Italy. As was previously mentioned, King Victor Emmanuel III (reigned 1900-1946) was an avid numismatist, and he oversaw the production of many artistic coin types. For example:
To me it looks like there is some rub on the high spots of the reverse. May just be the pictures. I am thinking AU58 or so.
You could be right, but an MS grade wouldn't surprise me. This coin compares favorably to some 64s I found online. That's assuming there are no cleaning issues. The color is rather light, but it's possible the photos are over-exposed. @Shrews1994 . . . very nice pick up.
After seeing this post I just had to get one: Italy 10 Centesimi 1911 50th Anniversary of Kingdom Bronze, 30 mm, 9.97 gm
