anyone know what this penny is

    its a penny, thats all I know

    anyone know what it is worth and what it is?

    Great Britain - Worth about $1.12 in VF condition.

    That's Britannia on the obverse, and Queen Victoria on the reverse!

    It's the other way around. The sovereign's portrait is ALWAYS on the obverse.

    And here I thought the date side was always the obverse... learn something new everyday. ;)

    Well....actually...if you have multiple sovereigns, or none (look at a Thaler of Saxony from the beggining of the 17th century !), the obverse is the side with the date, but if one side doesn't feature a ruler, then the side with the ruler is the obverse. It gets even more complicated when there is no ruler or date on either side.....
