I purchased this as an unidentified English penny. A member here helped identify it as a Barcelona half croat from right around the the time that Columbus was sailing the ocean blue

Cool visit, and an apparently interesting program! We had a guided tour of the RCM in 2013 (that was during a World of Coins forum meeting); our host so to say was José Maria Pérez as far as I remember. We were overwhelmed by both the quantity and quality of the exhibits there. Christian
I like having a coin from everywhere I've lived. Unfortunately my time in Spain was during a bit of a dry spell in my collecting, which is a shame considering how many directions I could have done. A few of the ones I did pick up...mandatory to have SOMETHING from the Cadiz mint seeing as I could see Cadiz across the water from where I was living! Something older: Something gold: Something kind of newer...had to go with an anchor motif seeing as I was in the Navy at the time! And that is what I've got photos of!
