Enjoy all and thanks for looking at some of my notes. Fronts: Backs:
cool !! the china 5 ruppees note looks like all the other 'conquest' notes that china issued. They would issue notes for countries they were going to invade/conquer. Without doing further digging, i am not sure of exactly which country this is from, but it does look to be an 'invasion' note. not to take away from the other 2 notes either they are cool as well lol
here are a Bank Of China 1 custom gold unit note dated 1930 and a India one rupee note dated 1935 Sorry about the bad conditions these where giving to me by my dad and i'm not sure where he got them from Enjoy Fronts: Backs:
Ok the Jim note is Burma and here is a little piece on it :kewl: Japanese Invasion Money Burma 9 notes in series. All have the "B" block letter 1c, 5c, 10c, 1/4r, 1/2r, 1r, 5r, 10r, 100r. Varieties in the block lettering of the small size notes includes a fractional configuration that would bring a type set to 12 notes or more. The Indian note is issued by the British who administerd the country then and has the crowned head of King George V on it What do you want to know about the chinese notes?
was just posting them for people to see. If you have anything you think is interesting please post it thanks for all the info De Orc
I have a few of the Chinese Gold unit ones up on Banknotebank and this is the basic info on them Front Sun Yat-sen In central cachet, Value in Chinese at corners Rev Bank building Shanghai in central cachet, Value in English at corners If I remember correctly they were trying to stabalize the currency at this time.
I asked my girlfriend what the Egyptian note said in Arabic (yes, blond hair and blue eyed girls can be fluent in Arabic). Anyhow, she said it says "The Central Bank of Egypt" and under that she thinks it says the currency (which is pounds) and then it has a signature. I just thought I would throw that out there for you so you have some extra info on the note. I think I might start collecting some middle eastern currency.
She didn't see a date on the Egyptian Note, so we did some digging and found that the Central Bank of Egypt and National Bank of Egypt merged in 1961...
