1943 steel cent .....help

    image.jpg Looking at them they are spray painted. Well I picked one out to see if I could rub it off or take it off and as I am rubbing in this one what’s underneath is pretty pristine so I don’t necessarily want to rub it but is there anyway I can take the spray paint off of these coins because the coin it’s underneath is in very good condition

    None of these look like they have been painted. They were made as steel with a zinc plating. They look fine just the way they are.

    I like the 1943 cents. Soak them in acetone or xylene to remove the paint.

    I know my husband said that as well but when you look at it you can see the lint that was sprayed in the paint.
    Also the one that I chose to rub I had silver paint on my fingers

    Grading us usually meaningful for coins costing at least $150. These are nice, but not that nice.

    You can check them for errors if you are into collecting them.
