Are those die cracks between the 4, 5, O, M, and 1 ?? or left over casting marks ?? And that on the bottom edge of the reverse? I've seen a lot of those coins and don't remember those marks. But I do like the 8 Real coins. Our dollar, half and quarter dollar system was based on the 8 Real, and the way it could be, and very often was, cut into "bits". Anyone remember this pep rally chant from high school? " 2 Bits, 4 Bits, 6 Bits, a Dollar, All who love Coin Talk !!, Stand up and Holler !! " Those were the days, weren't they ? lolol
The host coin is an ECU from the Villeneuve Saint Andre mint? I think I see an R in the center of the reverse. BTW, very nice coin!
Thank you!I'm not sure,it seems more like a K to me!Couldn't say too much,i bought it because of it's beautiful reformation, ecu's are not my strongest point as i'm more into german thalers.
1709 Corvey thaler, small mount mark that i'm going to try to have it fixed, improved by a professional, if i manage to find someone in the UK. Only 344 pieces minted according to Gorny & Mosch.
