    Hi all,
Yesterday I did a Metal Detecting hunt at Rockaway Beach in Far Rockaway Beach!
I have to nickname this beach Dime Beach because of so many I found. In one 5 foot radious sand spot I found about 22 Dimes and 8 Quarters! It was insane!

Totals of US Coins and Miscellaneous
    25C - 34 each
    10C - 58 each
    5C - 10 each
    1C - 45 each
    1 - Colombia 100 Pesos
    1 - Stainless Steel Ring

If you look in the middle of the picture you can kind of see me teaching one of my nephews how to Metal Detect.. John found about $1.47 in an hour.

If that is a 9mm casing, I'll bet the Rosies were all in "dime bags".

Nice haul. In NY doesn't that shell casing make it a crime scene?

funnycoins no strike, no balls,no outs. Just give me an hour

How deep does your detector register? I went on a nugget search in Australia and they were using a contraption that registered 6-8ft. They also portaged a small 2 wheel mini backhoe. 3 days netted 65 oz. with the largest weighing over 1 1/2 lbs.Ah when gold was 2500

As soon as I pull out any coins out of my scoop I check for key dates, metal content, varieties and the mint marks. Takes me about 10 seconds for each coin. Nothing special in my last batch.
