IMHO, those are 2 of the best pictures I have seen, but a little on the bright side. What is your new camera?

Good stuff Jon and a huge step up from before. I agree, try lighting adjustments and tilting the camera just a hair. I went to a "GE Reveal" bulb per GDJMSP and really like it's results !!

lol its the lighting. the reverse is slightly discolored but the obverse is nice with a few light spots

The pic of the 63 looked a little blurry and I thought it might be do to a little shaking.

 

Is that a fingerprint between the date and the chin on the 1960-D?
