British Penny

It is always a shame to see a coin holed, but you have to remember these pennies were exceedingly common at the time, and still are now. In that worn condition I have a box load of similar coins - I can't quite bring myself to send them to the scrap man, but their value is little more than the copper content (at least in the UK). As a pendant it has a little life yet...

I can perceive some sentimental value in you'r box of coins. In my humble opinion, it's more valuable than $.

 

I agree - which is why I still have them! But sentimental value is now measured in 100s of kilos in weight. When I go to the great coin fair in the sky someone else will have to deal with them.

 

I think you might be able to take them with you, Paddy. I know I'm going to give it a go.

Hey guys, looking thru my small, very small collection of low grade coins i found this 1942 half penny. Looks as if was cleaned.
