Do you think 5 coins spread like this will do for a set? Could I get by with 4 coins in a set? I tried to make it represent the progression.

That's tough to answer. I would look at all the coins and try to put together as many sets showing the progression as possible. Some sets might have 3, 4 or 5 coins. It all depends on what you are seeing.

Thanks. Right now I am trying to find some generic plastic nickel holders for 3, 4 or 5 coins. I see some for the Westward Series but they have that printing all over them. Believe it or not, there was only one in the roll that had no evidence of the chip. That made me lean toward sets of 4. Fun project and I appreciate the encouragement.

Some of the sets like Westward Ho have a plastic snap case and a cardboard backing with the printing that can be removed. It leaves no backing but you may be able to make your own on your computer.

I've ordered some Capital Plastics display holders for the Westward Series. I will try to adopt them to show a series of 4 from my findings.

I have ordered some of those holders to try the modification. Thanks for the idea.

You're more than welcome. I was surprised at the rate of progression that you have found for the same error. It's a minor error as you well know but due to the amount it grew and the quantity you found the fascination grows more so.

Please post after you adapt these holders and remember those grandkids at Christmas. It's only 150 days away. :)

Nickels must be known for this. I have 5 piece medals, all with die chips on reverse. There's 2 with 1 chips, a 3, 4 and this one has 6 to 7. All in the same spots, the E's, F's, S's. Trying to get good pics of all. 20180630_213121.jpg
