    Not looking to make a big deal about it but the 09 Red Book showed up at my door today and it's the first one I've ever gotten. For any beginners reading this, it's worth every penny. I figured there'd be some extra information in there but there's way more than I expected. I love all the extra info. Especially the pics showing mint marks, errors and DD stamps so I know what to look for. It's very helpful. Love how it tells you the percentage of metals in all the coins too.

    Hopefully I won't need to ask anymore of the basic questions everybodys seen here a hundred times.

    LOL! Yeah, I'm 'somewhat' of a veteran at another forum and I know how it can be. As the years go by, 'some' tend to lose patience for the people who aren't willing to buy a book or use the search function. I try to take that into account.

    Congrats !!!

    If you're like most of us, you'll be reading that book for years and years, always waiting for the new one to hit the shelves, only to run home and compare to last years prices, and to see what new stuff they've added. Nothing like new Redbook day !!:)

    I bought an 08 Redbook on Friday at Borders, and then on Saturday I saw that the 09 version was out. Talk about bad timing! :-(

    Well, now you can start a collection of Red Books!
    You only need 60 more!

    Just remember, the Red Book is only published once a year.
    Don't depend on the pricing information.

    But other than that, congrats.
    You got yourself a great book about US coins.

    I'll send that, some of the LEAST usable information in that book is the prices. But the rest of it more than makes up for it IF YOU READ IT. And I would also suggest sometime if you have the chance, pick up and older copy from back before Bowers wrote the introductory material. Personally I feel the Bressett and Yeoman did a better job of it. It has more of a historical slant/feel than a commercial one. (The older copy should only cost a dollar or two.)

    Steve;
    The only thing that I noted was a discussion about the "Future of the Lincoln Cent" and the new designs.
